Who can access a Safe Deposit Box?

  • For security reasons, only the authorised licence holder(s) listed on the account can access the Safe Deposit Box.
  • No one else is allowed to access the box that includes spouse, parents, children, friends, or staff unless they are officially registered as a licence holder.
  • Access is provided only during Kuber Vaults operating hours.
  • Access Credentials are required to confirm identity before entry.

Does Kuber Vaults have Insurance?

Kuber Vaults maintains a comprehensive Liability Policy. As part of your Licence privileges, your fee includes an insurable interest of up to $10,000. Should you require a higher level of insurable interest, this can be easily arranged by speaking with our friendly staff.

What cannot be stored in my box?

Government legislation prohibits firearms, liquids and illegal drugs to be stored in safety deposit boxes.

Are the boxes available in different sizes?

Kuber Vaults has varied sizes to suit customer needs and requirements. Please check relevant sections on our website or talk to one of our friendly staff to help you decide appropriate size for your needs.

When can I access my personal Safe Deposit Box?

You may access your safe deposit box during standard business hours on the operating days for your location. Castle Hill operates Tuesday to Sunday (including public holidays), and Canberra operates Tuesday to Saturday (closed on public holidays). If access is required outside business hours, arrangements may be available upon request. Additional fees may apply, depending on the reason for access and the level of staffing/security required.

Can I arrange for someone to access my Safe Deposit Box in an emergency?

No. For security and compliance reasons, access to a safe deposit box is strictly limited to the authorised Licence holder(s) recorded on the account and is available during operating hours only. Warning: Access cannot be granted by handing someone a key or sharing any access credentials. If a person is not listed as an authorised Licence holder on the account, they will not be permitted to access the box under any circumstances.

Can law enforcement authorities access my Safe Deposit Box without my knowledge or permission?

If the law enforcement authorities persuade the appropriate court that there is reasonable cause to suspect you are hiding something illegal (guns, drugs, explosives, stolen items or cash), they can obtain a court order, have right to open the box and seize the contents.

Are Safe Deposit Boxes protected from fire, flood and other disasters?

The companies that manufacture Safe Deposit Vaults that house the boxes make them highly “resistant” to fire, flood, heat, earthquakes, hurricanes and explosions.

How do I get my deposit back?

Once your lease has expired and you don’t wish to continue, please inform us. Upon clearing of your locker and return of both the keys, we can process your refund of key deposit money.

What is a key deposit?

A refundable key deposit is taken as a safety measure when you obtain a licence to operate a safety deposit box at Kuber Vaults. This is returned in full to each customer on vacating the vault, unless overdue storage fees or any adjustment to the vault needs to be made provided the key is not damaged and can still operate the locks.

What happens if my personal access keys are lost?

Kuber Vaults does not hold master keys to your personal safety-deposit box for your added security assurance. Your safety deposit box is private. Kuber Vaults will need to replace the entire lock and issue you with new keys subject to the payment of a fee.

If Kuber Vaults is liquidated, are my valuables secure?

In the event of Kuber Vaults to be placed into liquidation or administration, your assets cannot be seized by the liquidator or administrator, because at no time can the contents of your personal safety deposit box be deemed as assets of Kuber Vaults.

What Items should go into a Safe Deposit Box?

Important papers such as; originals of your insurance policy, birth/marriage/death certificates, original deeds/mortgage contracts. Other valuables such as special jewels, medals and collectable items, irreplaceable photos, video or pictures of your home contents for insurance purposes.

How often can I access my Safety Deposit Box at Kuber Vaults?

Kuber Vaults Licence does not limit the number of times you can access your personal safety deposit box. This forms part of our Licence privileges and every time you visit, there is no fee charged. We do have private suites you can use which can be booked in advance for no extra fee.

Is there a Safe Deposit Box Facility in Canberra?

Yes. Kuber Vaults has a Safe Deposit Box facility in Fyshwick, which is easily accessible from all parts of Canberra.

Who can access my box?

Access to your safe deposit box is strictly limited to the authorised Licence holder(s) listed on the account. Only those registered Licence holders are permitted to access the box during operating hours.

What about privacy?

With controlled access, Kuber Vaults is extremely secure and just as importantly, private and confidential. Respect for client confidentiality is an extremely high priority. We comply with legislation that governs disclosure of information and has extremely tight controls of our own policies and procedures that govern strict guidelines for staff.

How long does it take to set up an account with Kuber Vaults?

Opening an account with Kuber Vaults is a streamlined process. In most cases, onboarding takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on the type of account being established.

What do I do if my contact details change?

It is the responsibility of the Licence holder/s to update Kube Vaults if their contact details, especially their email addresses, change. Failure to do so could mean missing out on vital information about the lockers.

How is access granted to Kuber Vaults?

Kuber Vaults Licence provides access to the vault. After paying the appropriate Licence fee (based on a size of box) you will be granted access. For Individuals one licence provides access to 2 people –i.e.two people can jointly have one licence. For companies & Trusts, a maximum of 2 directors / trustees will be given access. A nomination form will need to be signed by other directors or trustees if there are more than 2 directors or Trustees.

Does Kuber Vaults help create Wills or provide legal services?

Kuber Vaults does not provide legal services, including drafting or creating Wills or providing legal advice. That said, Kuber Vaults support clients by offering a secure and private Safe Deposit Box to store important originals such as Wills, property documents, passports, and other valuable paperwork.
